General Dentistry

Dentistry for all the Family, keeping your teeth and gums in excellent condition with regular check-ups.

You've been told that it's vital to visit the dentist regularly to ensure that your teeth stay healthy.

Dr Downey will conduct a thorough oral examination and may need to take digital x-rays. If you need treatment, he will explain this in advance and discuss your options along with any relevant costs with you. Aside from checking the condition of all your teeth for decay and wear during your appointment, he will also examine your gums and oral soft tissues. Any early signs of potential problems like gingivitis (gum inflammation); periodontitis (gum disease) and mouth cancer can be detected with regular thorough examinations.

How long does treatment take?

A routine examination usually involves 20 minutes with our principal dentist.

How often should you attend dental check-ups?

Regular dental check-ups are advised to spot any early signs of decay and prevent potential problems. We will discuss and advise you of your ideal frequency.

We would advise that you need to visit at least once a year as a minimum, but typically, most patients need to attend every 6 months, depending on their oral health.
